Say what you will about Nigel Farage, but he certainly knows how to stay in peoples minds. Ever since the (re)launch of the Brexit party on the 12th of April there seems to be a new soundbite from their illustrious leader. Farage also has a cult following amongst Brexiteers and can seemingly do no wrong. To unpack my thoughts on this party and Farage feels like treading water, I can just about stay up for air but its just a matter of time until more rhetoric and would be scandals come at me in waves until I’m submerged into Nigels world. He divides opinion and he knows it, part of the Farage facade is his us against the world schtick for him and his supporters. He doesn’t mention that he used to be a city trader or that he spends most of his time when he isn’t doing a publicity run, sucking up to millionaires, whether its Aron Banks in the UK or Trump in the US, he’s desperate to align himself with them. This is my main issue with the man, not his urges to leave the EU, but the reasons he wants it. While he will say its because the EU is unelected, they have too much control and it will benefit us all, what he really means is it will benefit me both politically much like BOJO and likely economically like Rees-Mogg, who’s sister is also a member of the Brexit party. I really believe that he is just a con-man who has learnt how to use the media to his gain. Circling back to the Brexit party in general, it was founded by a woman who lives in Great Yarmouth. Shortly after its inception she was booted out for racist tweets sent a few years prior, fortunately you know who was there to step in, how noble! The murky side of politics also comes to mind when seeing reports of mystery donors and undisclosed finances. For the record I also have the same concerns for all parties but particularly newer ones including the wonderfully abbreviated CUK. So really the Brexit party is a new Farage vehicle as UKIP decided to go full BNP and recruit the diminutive green street extra Tommy Robinson AKA Stephen Yaxley-Lennon (wonder why he changed that, sounds exactly like a man of the people). But regardless of whether the Brexit party succeeds, Farage can’t lose he gets his publicity either way and he can either celebrate in the country’s much poorer conditions or act as though he is the victim and be a martyr for his supporters.

Ok so if anyone does somehow find this then hi, I’m using this site as a way of organising my thoughts when it comes to whats going on in uk politics. I may write about other things too but I specifically wanted an outlet to comment on the rapidly changing beast that is UK politics in 2019. For now I’m going to keep it anonymous, mainly because I find it easier to write that way. As far as how often I’ll update with posts, much like Labours Brexit position, I haven’t decided. Anyway for thats all for now.
Enjoy!
